Baby Girl was a cockatiel that was given to me from a friend. I couldn't let her fly freely anymore because we since inherited two dogs. It was better she had a home that would let her out.
The project of Baby Girl for me was completed totaling from start to finish 16 hours. As you recall on September 3rd, I mention this was a very special art class between me and my student. I used to own Baby Girl and sold her to Tesa (My student). Tesa wanted to take some art lessons when she dropped into Paper Moon. The owner, Shelley gave her one of my cards to contact me. She realized she had seen that card before. We connected to schedule a class and realized she had bought Baby Girl from me about a year ago.
I decided because of the common bond we had to use a basic back drop that could be modified into a tropical scene. We could make it a memorial to Baby Girl as she had past away.
Tesa is almost done with her painting. So far she has totaled about 14 hours. Yesterday she came in for her first class in my studio to try to finish it. She gave me a small gift. She retrieved a feather from Baby Girl for me to have. I still get choked up thinking of that small gester of kindness and memory of Baby Girl.
