The Irises were an art study for a student this late summer. Barbara finished hers at home end of September 2014 and I finished October 1st. We both probably put in about 5 to 6 hours. I like our version better than the one we studied from. The study was to learn how to double load our brushes to make the Iris petals look like lacy velvet. My canvus was larger than Barbaras so when I placed the design on my board I had more room on top that I had to figure out how to fill. Not bad for being the first time doing a one stoke style.
Note: For those who follow me on Facebook, you are not imagining things. After I sign a painting I often find something missing that I didn't see and adjust the painting with items or colors. This may be the final for slide show but I may have to take one more picture for photos quality.
